Artist Statement
Seit dem Kindesalter beschäftigt sich Susan Lisbin mit der Beobachtung von Menschen und deren Beziehungen. Im Alter von 27 entdeckte sie den Abstrakten Expressionismus für sich und fand dadurch die Befreiung als Künstlerin. Sie hat dadurch zu einem intuitiven Arbeitsprozess gefunden, der es ihr ermöglicht, ein eigenes künstlerisches Vokabular zu entwickeln. In ihrer Kunst behandelt Susan Lisbin zwischenmenschliche Spannungen, Sexualität und Humor und illustriert damit menschliche Interaktionen. Ihre Bilder werden zu Szenarien, die unser Neben- und Miteinander und die verschiedenen Identitäten in unserer gemeinsamen Welt aufzeigen.
