Begi Guggenheim created „Phobie“ in 2016 as a commissioned work for a private university in Vienna, which specializes in the training of psychothapists. If you take a close look at the sculpture you will find a spider web, a ladder, a fork, a syringe, a phallus, bat wings and a TV. All these things can cause/trigger anxiety disorders/phobia. Vienna was a centre of the development of psychotherapy thanks to Sigmund Freud, Alfred Adler, Melanie Klein, Otto Kernberg, Otto Rank and Viktor Frankl to name but a few. Unfortunately the artwork was rejected by the commissioner and is still available.
