Alan Neider // Ikea Painting No. 3

2017

paint, moving blankets, fabric

203 x 198 x 10 cm / 80 x 78 x 4 inches

With the Ikea Paintings, Alan Neider dissolves the boundaries of painting. He uses unusual materials and puts them together to get textures and surfaces on which he paints. The colors react differently to these materials.

The form goes beyond the ordinary.

Finally, the Ikea bag, together with the other materials used, refers to the phenomenon of mass consumption.
