OTHER ISLAND 1+3 Bräuhausgasse 31 / 28th to 30th. September 2023 / 25th-27th April 2024

OTHER ISLAND 1 / DARK CITY was organized by Gerhard Fresacher and District4Art. 50 artists showed from 28th to 30th. September 2023 on 2000m2 for 72 hours non-stop. The exhibition was staged based on an idea by Alfred Kubin (Die andere Seite/Other Island).

Reflecting on the topic, Oksana Zmiyevska showed two chess pictures in our room and she did a chess performance. Olga Pastekova showed her wolf pictures, Thomas Gegner, Hubert Schatz and Heri Sternfaenger demons, nature spirits and abstract beings. We had an oracle with a skull from Philipp Goldscheider and Annette Tesarek performed and it remained the performance costume. In the atrium we installed two bird feeders by Christian Eisenberger, one deconstructivist in the style of Zaha Hadid, the other brutalist in the style of Fritz Wotruba.

OTHER ISLAND 3 / Silence : Colab ! was organized by Gerhard Fresacher and Bräuhausgasse 31: There were 25 vernissages that were held in the house on two staircases and four floors each. 25th-27th April 2024.

In our room, Anna Pelz, Ana Vollwesen, Rouven Dürr, Judith Wagner, Fabian Seiz and Martin Krammer showed works that were spatially distributed and transitioned from outside and from bright and loud to inside, quiet and still.
