On Saturday, June 13, the exhibition series GIVE PEACE invites you to a distribution event along the pilgrimage route, followed by the exhibition opening at Micro Space for Art in Mariazell. The starting point is the work of the Upper Austrian artist Marco Prenninger.
The exhibition takes place in two locations: on the final ascent of the approximately 1,400-kilometer-long Marian Way from the pilgrimage site of Șumuleu Ciuc (Romania/Transylvania) via Köszeg (Hungary) to Mariazell, and in the Micro Space for Art in the center of Mariazell.
The desire for peace and protection has always been a central motivation for pilgrimage. It becomes clear that peace does not arise spontaneously—it must be actively cultivated.
With "GIVE PEACE," Marco Prenninger articulates a gesture that is as simple as it is powerful. In a series of drawings and watercolors, he condenses his message into a recurring motif: a dove of peace, accompanied by flowers and the handwritten appeal "GIVE PEACE."
This expresses the desire for tranquility, for silence, for less—and at the same time, for renewed vitality. Especially in a time of multiple crises, this simple gesture gains urgency.
The exhibition's motif will be printed on thousands of postcards and distributed along the pilgrimage route. Following this, Marco Prenninger will open his exhibition at Micro Space for Art.
On-site, visitors can fill out postcards and send them directly.
The exhibition series will then continue at other locations in Austria.
