WIENER MELANGE focuses on seven selected artistic positions. The central unifying element is their resistant and non-conformist attitude, which is expressed in diverse ways in the works on display. The exhibition spans a dialogue from the 1990s to the present, re-examining artistic approaches that reveal a profound exploration of existence and existential questions. The exhibition will feature, among other works, Adam Wiener's acrylic skins, the imaginary worlds of Michael Vonbank, and Padhi Frieberger's characteristic junk assemblages. Political resistance is evident in the works of Elke Silvia Krystufek and Clemens Stecher, while Annette Tesarek and Marcel Houf break down the boundaries of categorization.

WIENER MELANGE is conceived as an open, installation-based spatial concept that not only presents existing works but also creates deliberate connections between the works of the artists mentioned. The aim is to create dialogues that open up new perspectives on contemporary art production. A particular focus is on elaborating on the shared roots of resistance and nonconformity, which manifest themselves in various forms in the artists' works. The inclusion of the collaborative work of Elke Silvia Krystufek and Michael Vonbank, as well as everyday objects in Adam Wiener's exhibition, underscores this interconnectedness in a special way.
